Greetings from the President
Greetings, my name is SAKO LANCINE, President of NPO Solidarity Cote d’Ivoire–Japan, a non-profit organization. I came to Japan in 2002 as a government-sponsored International Student with the support from both Japan and Cote d’Ivoire, and studied at a vocational school and university.
I’m grateful for this experience that has given me a great opportunity in my life. I want to give back and contribute to the society of Japan and Côte d’Ivoire in the future. In 2020 I established the NPO Solidarity Cote d’Ivoire–Japan, as a bridge between Japan and Cote d’Ivoire as well as other African nations. The organization seeks to strengthen international collaboration, economic growth, and cultural exchange.
In Abidjan, the capital city of Côte d’Ivoire, we have established a Japanese language school in 2021. I’m convinced that I can share information that will promote interchange between the two countries because I was raised, educated, lived, and created multiple connections in both countries. As a result, I am familiar with the cultures, traditions, people, and customs of both nations.
Japan and Côte d’Ivoire. We are hoping that through working together, we can increase understanding of the various languages, cultures, and customs of these far-off countries.
SAKO LANCINE
Born in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.
IT systems engineer, TV personality, former President of the Association of Ivorians in Japan and President of the NPO Solidarity Cote d’Ivoire-Japan.
After beginning Judo and Aikido in high school, I developed an interest for Japan. Arrived in Japan in 2002 as an overseas student, and joined an IT company as a system engineer after completing my studies in information engineering and computer science at Ibaraki University.
Furthermore, I appear on Japanese television shows to promote Côte d’Ivoire’s culture and serve as a link between my country and Japan. In 2020, I founded the NPO Solidarity Cote d’Ivoire-Japan, which promotes educational exchanges between Africa and Japan, spreads knowledge of Japanese culture among Africans, helps create a child-friendly environment, and supports agriculture.
